If you want to get in on the reel trend and make your own, here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to make a reel on Facebook.
- Step 1 – Update your app: Make sure you have your device’s most recent version of the Facebook app.
- Step 2 – Navigate to the Reels section: Open your Facebook app, navigate to your Feed, and select the “Reels” section at the bottom of the screen. Alternatively, tap on the camera icon in the top-right corner when viewing a Reel.
- Step 3 – Include video in your reel: There are two methods for including video in your reel. You can either tap the record button to start a new video or the photo icon in the bottom-left corner to add video clips from your camera roll.
- Step 4 – Use creative tools: Add captions, sound, effects, timer, or text to make your reel stand out.
- Step 5 – Add a description: When finished with your reel, tap “Next.” This will take you to a screen where you can describe your reel.
- Step 6 – Select an audience: You can select who can view your reel by tapping on the audience selection.
- Step 7 – Share your reel: Finally, tap the “Share Reel” button to publish your work.
Understanding the Monetization of Facebook Reels
Unlike Facebook Stories, which are primarily focused on your followers, reels allow your content to be seen by a much larger audience than just your followers (for example, you could have 500 followers, and your reels could reach over a million people!)

- Use the Facebook Reels Play Bonus Program.
#1- Facebook Reel Ads
As a small business owner aiming to promote your company and product, you probably wonder, ‘Why would you want to put someone else’s ad on your reel?’
That’s an excellent question. But consider the extra cash flow, and remember that the ad displayed on your reel will not always be from someone in your industry.
Nonetheless, even if you want ads on your reel, it is safe to say that not everyone has them by default. However, if you are interested in participating in the programme, the following requirements must be met:

Overlay Ads
These days, overlay advertisements appear as either banners or stickers at the top of Facebook reels. They lay over the reel video transparently, letting viewers see the ad without interfering with their experience of watching the reel.

However, Overlay ads come in two different varieties, which include:
Post-loop ads
These are the video ads displayed to your audience after they play your reel twice. But after the video ad concludes, your reel will resume playing continuously.

Stars are virtual coins your audience can buy and send you to show appreciation.
When someone watches your reel, they can send stars to your creator page by tapping the star icon on the right-hand side of the screen. They can select 50, 200, 500, or a custom number of stars.
Stars on Reels is now everyone’s favourite way to make money because you can earn money even if you aren’t eligible for the Reels Play bonus programme or have overlay ads enabled.
#3: Facebook bonus reels programme
Through the Reels Play bonus programme, which is by invitation only, creators can get paid by Facebook for producing and posting qualifying reels.
Reels can receive bonuses if they meet specific performance goals throughout the programme, such as reaching 1,000 views.

What Countries Can Get Facebook Reels?
Facebook Reels ads are available in more than 50 countries and are as follows:

Regarding the Facebook reels bonus eligible countries, there are just two: the United States and India.

With the decline of Facebook advertising, many business owners are looking for a lucrative organic alternative, and Facebook reels are giving them just that!
Here’s how to get more views on Facebook reels:
#1 – Use popular music or your audio:
Choose trending songs, sounds, and effects from Facebook’s music library.
But remember that if you don’t want to use a popular sound, you can always use your own.
If you use your audio, you will not only receive an organic boost, but your audio may also go viral!
#2 – Post regularly:
To stay active in the community and keep viewers engaged, try to post at least 2-3 Reels weekly. If you don’t have the time to do that, you could either:
- Consider creating a few Reels ahead of time and then rolling them out regularly.
- You can outsource them to a social media management company like 50 Pound Social.
#3 – Get rid of any watermarks on your videos:
TikTok is the most common watermark. If you repurpose your TikTok account for Facebook reels, you may end up uploading Facebook reels with the TikTok watermark. Which is not good!
The issue is that Facebook will deliberately reduce the reach of videos that contain a competitor’s watermark. So, try to save your TikTok videos before sharing them!
When will Facebook Remove your Restrictions?
